In western East Java lies a region that chronicles the long journey of earth and humanity: the aUGGp Geopark Bojonegoro. Here, traces of ancient seas, rock folds, and the Bengawan Solo River converge to form a unique landscape—a place where stories of geology, energy, and community life converge in one space. Bojonegoro's uniqueness lies in its naturally exposed petroleum system, making it a rare natural laboratory. From its rich natural environment, a story of balance emerges—how humans and the earth give back to, learn from, and maintain sustainability together.

In western East Java lies a region that chronicles the long journey of earth and humanity: aUGGp Bojonegoro. Here, traces of ancient seas, rock folds, and the Bengawan Solo River converge to form a unique landscape—a place where stories of geology, energy, and community life converge in one space. Bojonegoro's uniqueness lies in the integrity of its geological system. Rock layers that served as sources, migration routes, and traps for oil and gas can still be observed on the surface, making it a rare example and natural laboratory of a naturally exposed petroleum system. From this landscape, an understanding emerges of how the earth's resources are formed and wisely utilized, as well as how humans learn to appreciate every process that occurs within it. Beyond the geology, the biotic life in this region also enriches Bojonegoro's uniqueness. Teak forests stretching across the mountains, the dry vegetation typical of East Java, and the diverse fauna adapted to the karst and hilly environments form an ecosystem that is both strong and vulnerable. All live side by side, part of a natural balance that has existed for thousands of years. This richness blends with the cultural heritage of the Bojonegoro people—from local wisdom in managing natural resources, traditions of cooperation, to art and folklore that illustrate humanity's closeness to the earth. All form a unified whole that affirms the true meaning of a geopark: a reflection of humanity's relationship with nature. It teaches balance—that every potential we explore, every layer of the earth we touch, carries a responsibility to maintain its sustainability.
