G-12 Bentonite Air Terjun Kedung Peti
Around Kedung Peti Waterfall,
bentonite deposits formed from the weathering of fine clay-rich rocks in the
Ledok Formation during the Late Miocene. Natural chemical processes with
groundwater concentrated the clay mineral montmorillonite at this site. These
layers lie on the southern flank of the east–west Kawengan anticline,
reflecting past geological dynamics. This geosite combines natural scenery with
insights into geological processes and the evolution of the environment in
Bojonegoro.
Di sekitar Air Terjun Kedung
Peti, terdapat endapan bentonit yang terbentuk dari pelapukan batuan halus
berlempung pada Formasi Ledok berumur Miosen Akhir. Proses kimia alami dengan
air tanah menghasilkan mineral montmorillonit yang terkonsentrasi di lokasi
ini. Lapisan-lapisan ini terletak di sayap selatan antiklin Kawengan yang
memanjang timur–barat, mencerminkan dinamika geologi masa lalu. Geosite ini
memadukan keindahan alam dengan wawasan tentang proses geologi dan evolusi
lingkungan di Bojonegoro.
