G-06 Lektotipe Elephas hysudrindicus Tinggang
In the Bengawan Solo floodplain,
at Tinggang in Ngraho District, fossils of the ancient elephant Elephas
hysudrindicus have been discovered, along with bone fragments and tusks
from other animals, such as Stegodon trigonocephalus. This fossil was
first identified by Dubois (1908) as the lectotype of the species and has
become an important reference for studies on the evolution of ancient elephants
in Indonesia. Recent research confirms the site’s high scientific value in
understanding the life history and environmental changes of ancient Bojonegoro.
Di dataran banjir Bengawan Solo, wilayahTinggang,
Kecamatan Ngraho, ditemukan fosil gajah purba Elephas hysudrindicus,
beserta fragmen tulang dan gading hewan lain, seperti Stegodon
trigonocephalus. Fosil ini pertama kali diidentifikasi oleh Dubois (1908)
sebagai lectotype dari spesies tersebut dan menjadi referensi penting untuk
studi evolusi gajah purba di Indonesia. Penelitian terbaru menegaskan nilai
ilmiah tinggi dari situs ini dalam memahami sejarah hidup dan perubahan
lingkungan di Bojonegoro pada masa lampau.
